Michael J. Parsons, CPA

Business Biography
Mike is a graduate of Ball State University where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Indiana and Florida. The first six years of his career were spent with Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst & Young) in Indianapolis and Fort Lauderdale. In 1973 he formed the partnership of Bateman & Parsons with Joe Bateman in Riviera Beach. In 1977 he co-founded the accounting firm of Parsons & Darby in North Palm Beach, which continued until 1993 when he became a sole practitioner. Parsons & Benton, LLC was established in 1998, until mid 2003 when he once again became a sole practitioner.

Business Associations
Mike's professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana CPA Society, and the Institute of Management Accountants. Mike was the co-founder and Charter Vice-President of the Palm Beach Area Chapter of the National Association of Accountants (Now Institute of Management Accountants). He has served on the Board of Directors, East Coast Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently serving on the Board of the Palm Beach Gardens Kiwanis Club. He is also a Past President of the Exchange Club of the Northern Palm Beaches and the North Palm Beach/Palm Beach Gardens Jaycees. Mike has served as Campaign Treasurer for many successful political campaigns in Palm Beach County. He also serves on the Finance Committee of his church.

Personal History
Mike is originally from Winchester, Indiana. He and his wife Pam have been married for over 38 years and have two children and three grandchildren. They own, live in and manage a triplex in Juno where for over 20 years their only two tenants were their mothers. For rest and relaxation, Mike and Pam run to their mountain retreat in North Carolina.

About the Firm
In one form of practice or another, the accounting firm of Michael J. Parsons, CPA has been serving northern Palm Beach Country since 1972. Though considered a full service accounting firm, over the years we have found ourselves largely involved with meeting the needs of small businesses, estates, trusts and individuals in the areas of Tax Planning, Compliance and Consulting.

About our Staff

Margaret, is originally from Ohio and runs our front office, which includes greeting our clients, answering the phones and assembling the tax returns for signature and generally keeping the office running smoothly.

Sheri, is originally from Pennsylvania and is our small business consultant and bookkeeper. She is also the one that can readily answer your Quicken and Quickbooks questions.

Pam, is our "Go To" person. If it's broken, she fixes it. If it's a fire, she puts it out. If you don't know what it is, she looks it up! She is fluent in computer mumbo jumbo which allows her to talk to dot com (whoever she is!)
